The real way to do it?
Data Protection And Marketing need a close relationship where:
- Both Teams have a common vision, and understand each other and their Roles
- The current and future needs of Marketing are enabled through the lense of current and future limitations
- Customer experience and data quality matter as much as legal requirements
- Both Teams come together to form and adjust custom approaches based on local guidelines
This way you don't lose more data than you have to at any given time.
Sure, it requires effort, but anything else would be giving up or ignoring reality.
