Move from traditional to 1:1 marketing with AI
Here's my summary of the Marketing for AI class from University of Virginia:
● Businesses of all types and sizes are investing more in AI for Marketing in the next 3 years (even traditional node companies that rely on channel partners)
● Moving on AI now creates a powerful moat for your business
● The value of your investment goes up over time due to network effects
● CMOs should not start reading articles about tactics or high-level books about AI
● They should start moving existing relationship moments from traditional marketing (1:many) to modern marketing (1:1)
● Disney made the big move to go from producer to streaming provider, and can now personalize launches, suggest what to watch, and learn what's more catchy to who
● Scaling personalized 1:1 marketing goes beyond the human ability to comprehend
● Rolling out AI is an iterative process with successes and failures
● The magic happens when you combine algorithms, data and network effects
● Washington Post set the AI bar in their industry, soared to new levels, and productified their internal tools
● You need a business model that feeds you first-party data about who likes what and enables improved value for you and your customers over time (like Google, social media platforms, etc.)
● FAANG stocks would not be performing this well without their AI foundation
● Those scared of losing their jobs to AI also say they don't understand it
My final assignment was creating an AI-powered marketing campaign for a node company that relies on channel partners. I chose Libero 🍼
I'll share that next week 🤖📈
